What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic Medicine is a system of primary health care that honors the innate healing capabilities within each person.  Naturopathic Medicine is strongly based on the philosophy of discovering and treating the underlying causes of illness within the individual versus focusing on the suppression or treatment of specific symptoms.

It is a person-centered system versus a disease-centered system and each patient is treated as an individual versus an illness or condition. Naturopathic Medicine focuses on the study of health, versus the study of disease, and each patient is an active participant in the restoration of their health in order to treat current health issues and prevent future illness.

The goal of Naturopathic Medicine is to discover and treat the underlying causes of illness within the individual through the use of natural therapeutics in order to restore a state of optimal health. Naturopathic therapeutics include:

Nutrition

Lifestyle Counseling

Herbal Medicine

Homeopathy

Hydrotherapy

Mind-body healing

Bio-energetic healing modalities

Stress management techniques

As a graduate from Bastyr University’s five year Naturopathic Medical program with over 15 yrs of clinical experience,  I am passionate about helping others turn on their full healing potential with a combination of naturopathic and energy healing modalities.
