The deer tick population has sky rocketed recently, and it is estimated that over 50% of deer ticks carry the pathogen that causes Lyme’s disease – a potentially devastating illness that can affect multiple organ systems.
Since it typically takes 24-36 hours of having a tick stuck to you before you can get infected, there is a window of time for important preventative measures. Ticks can be so incredibly tiny and they burrow in crevices making them very difficult to find, so ideally you will want to prevent tick bites in the first place.
