How is your Spring going so far?
Mine began with a pre-eclipse bang. My much anticipated move to WV finally happened during a week of torrential downpour.
I’ve upgraded from a dark dwelling situation in Arlington for sunset views from the deck and front windows of my townhouse (well, I also get a great view of Home Depot’s roof, but I focus on the sky).
While the past 5 years in low ceilings and lack of light took its toll on my psyche, I also knew this experience of feeling trapped served a purpose.
SO many people feel trapped by chronic illness, jobs that rob their soul’s calling, and a pace of life that completely suffocates creativity.
I’ve known that my work is to help get people unstuck and I now have more to offer in that regard. I’ve learned so much about radical self care, spiritual practice and energy transmutation.
The fantastic news is instead of having to plan regular outings ‘outside the beltway’ for a more satisfying energy purge – clearing my energy is just now a sun gaze and a breeze away.
A healer once told me I was about to enter spiritual bootcamp in 2019 and someone else recently said my move would feel like exiting prison. They were both right – exiting survival mode has never felt so good!
Back to Spring transition …
While this light, bright season is favored by so many, seasonal change is also a time of instability. Over my years in the healing realm, I’ve noticed that a few patterns can emerge:
Depression – Yes, depression in Spring is real. This is a demanding energy shift that can overwhelm our bodies. Depression is the body slowing itself down to save energy.
Carb cravings – If you feel an urge to eat carbs and sweets, this could be a sign that the yeasty beasties are trying to get a foothold – it’s not uncommon for gut pathogens to bloom, right in alignment with the flowers.
Cyclical allergies – One day (or for weeks) you are fine and then boom they come back. Did you know the health of your nervous system also greatly affects your susceptibility to allergies?
What to do about all of this?
1) Release
Commit to removing a layer of gunk. If you have eaten a ton of carbs this winter, or you suffer from seasonal allergies, then yes, it’s time to love your liver and consider a cleanse!
Cleansing is easier when you have a plan. I’ve laid out a step-by-step cleanse plan for you and many clients have had success. They’ve reported clearer thinking, a feeling of lightness, smoother digestion, easy weight loss, and gained the ability to stand firm in their boundaries.
2) Rebalance
Allergies result from a hyper-immune response that is influenced in part by stress hormones and inflammatory markers. My favorite supplements to stay ahead of the pollen count are in my Allergy Relief Protocol.
3) Regulate your Nervous System

AND for those in a relationship, Spring emerges with a fresh air of flirtiness. It’s time to get out of the house and live your life again! I notice the most successful couples have a few things in common:
- They prioritize quality time together (even in the bedroom).
- They’re open to learning new things.
- Everything is open for discussion. There’s no judgment.
- Both parties are willing to try and commit to the process of being their best selves, first independently, and as a couple.
If you’re in a relationship, do you feel more like roommates or lovers?
The truth is most people in long-term relationships or marriages have been conditioned to believe they must settle for the loss of passion and depth that was palpable in the earlier days.
The “roommate phase” will certainly creep up on you if you’re not careful.
It’s sneaky because you don’t even realize the lack of connection is contributing to all those arguments, tension, and overall emotional distance you may be experiencing together.
In Kim Anami’s couple’s salon, you have the opportunity to completely rebirth your relationship. Think of it like ‘relationship rehab.’ To go deeper, you must redesign your bond into a conscious, empowered, ecstatic union.
